These are some of the oldest, most striking homes in the city. The Avenues and Capitol Hill are full of Victorians, bungalows, and turn-of-the-century houses with tall gables, turrets, and steep pitches, and the streets climb fast as you head up the hill. Homes like these weren't built with holiday lighting in mind, so outdoor outlets are scarce and the original wiring hides them well. Historic homes. Tricky rooflines. Handled.
The Avenues - A warmer look, year two. A returning client loved their placement but not the white bulbs from year one, so we swapped every bulb to a warm red and green without redoing the setup. The house made us earn it: three stories on a sloped lot with a rounded feature where standard clips wouldn't hold, so we ran sticky clips along the curve, hid the wire through the vines and down the gutter, and garlanded the door to the ground. Roughly 120 to 140 feet.
The Avenues - Three seasons running. Ice ice baby! We wrapped the entry pillars and a standalone lamp post in ice blue for a clean, modern glow that plays off the downtown skyline and the Capitol in the distance.
The Avenues - Clean lines, no extra hardware. This home has a TPO membrane roof, the flat plastic kind with no shingle edge to clip to, so we mounted into the soffit using the clips already built into each socket. Warm white C9 bulbs run the full front roofline, about 80 to 90 feet of even coverage, with the power rerouted to a new front outlet and fresh wire tucked discreetly so it holds through the season.
Every one of these homeowners came back the following year. Our new-client minimum is $750, and most first-year displays land between $1,200 and $1,600 depending on size, difficulty, and quantity.
